Most adults have several 'too nice to wear' pieces hanging unworn. The mental framing — saving them for 'special occasions' — means they're rarely worn. Most never get worn enough to justify keeping. Most regret centres on under-use rather than over-use.
How to shift the framing
Tuesday is a special occasion. Wear the nicer top to lunch with a friend. Treat the cashmere as workwear, not just church wear. The piece exists to be worn; saving it for 'someday' means it's wasted.
Audit your 'saved' pieces. Anything unworn in 12+ months: either commit to wearing it regularly, or donate. The middle ground — saving forever — serves no one.
