Why Most Belts Underperform

Why Most Belts Underperform

Belts accumulate in drawers — old ones from previous trends, cheap purchases, occasional gifts. Most don't get worn because they don't quite work with current outfits. Two well-chosen belts replace the lot.

The two belts that cover most needs

Quality leather belt in your most-worn neutral (black or tan), 1-1.5 inches wide, classic buckle. Works with trousers, jeans, dresses. £30-100 for leather that lasts a decade.

Slim leather belt (under 1 inch) for dresses that need belting. Same colour family. £25-60.

What to skip

Trend buckles. Multiple colours of similar style. Cheap synthetic 'leather' that cracks within a year. Statement belts that work with one outfit only.

Audit your belt drawer. Most have 6-12 and use 1-2. Pare to the two that work; donate the rest.
